Psychotropic Drug Advisory Service

Access independent information on medicines used to treat psychiatric illnesses from a dedicated pharmacist through the Psychotropic Drug Advisory Service.

Christine Culhane provides medicines-specific support to psychiatrists, other medical practitioners, allied health care professionals, consumers, carers and community based support organisations.

Phone Christine Culhane on +61 3 9035 3089 for advice on:

  • Treatment choice
  • Treatment response
  • Adverse effects of medications, as well as other psychoactive substances
  • Interactions between medications and other drugs
  • Specific information on the use of medications by special populations (e.g. children, adolescents, the elderly and women who are pregnant or breast feeding)

This service is funded by a grant from the Department of Human Services and receives consultant clinical support from Professor Nicholas Keks of the Clinical Research Unit at Delmont Private Hospital, which evaluates treatments for schizophrenia and other mental illnesses.
